Erosion & Sediment Control

PRODUCT SEARCH

Prevention of soil lost and establishing vegetation by matching and applying the correct erosion and sediment control materials is at the core of CSI Geoturf’s success. The onset of NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) laws developed by the EPA, has created the need for more advanced soil erosion and sediment control to protect the environment we all live in and enjoy. CSI Geoturf is up for that challenge and can supply products ranging from bioengineering to turf reinforcement to hard armor solutions with a competitive and trusted line of BMP solutions.
Rolled Erosion Blankets

Prefabricated Mulch Blankets offer excellent soil erosion protection in any soil condition. Depending on the slope angle, slope length and soil conditions, biodegradable mulch blankets are effective in promoting seed germination, preventing soil erosion and reinforcing turf root structure.

Turf Reinforcement Mats

TRM’s ( turf reinforcement mats) combine vegetative growth and synthetic materials to form a high-strength mat that helps to prevent soil erosion in drainage areas and on steep slopes. A green solution for difficult erosion control problems can be found in this type of erosion control approach.

Silt Fence & Check Dams

Silt Fence is designed to specifically control soil runoff from or onto protected areas. They are one of the most common methods of sediment control.

The GeoRidge®Bio check dam has proven effective for erosion and sediment control. By acting as an energy dissipater, it reduces flow velocities, and provides a smoother, less damaging release of water minimizing the problem of downstream sediment. Compared to straw bales, rock check dams, wattles, and other synthetic devices, GeoRidge® consistently outperforms and delivers superior results.

Hard Armor

Gabions are divided into cells with diaphragms, whose function is to reinforce the structure. The mesh (except for the diaphragms) is reinforced on all edges with wires of a larger diameter to strengthen the gabions and facilitate the assembly and installation.

Retaining Wall Systems

Many erosion control challenges today are beyond the capabilites of products offered as “ green solutions”. The water velocity, shear and wave action force encountered require the performance levels of hard armor type solutions.

Cellular Confinement

Geoweb is a lightweight, expandable confinement system which creates an economical erosion barrier or structural foundation. This HDPE system slows down hydraulic energy, limiting forces within or under cells.

Bioengineering

Natural vegetation provides particulate contaminant removal through sedimentation and soil infiltration and improves the aesthetics of a site. This technology has been effectively used in both urban and rural areas and in a variety of applications.

Sediment Control Flocculants and Polymers
Flocculants are used to treat storm, industrial and municipal water, including pollutants in construction site runoff, by reversing the process of water contamination through a combination of advanced, environmentally friendly, natural biopolymer technologies.

Hydromulch Supplies

Hydro-mulching is an age-old method of delivering seed, fertilizer and an adequate level of erosion control to lawn areas. The mulching aspect comes from all natural materials such as paper, wood fiber or blends of both. For flat areas or gentle slopes, this is the method of choice.
